Helena "Jayne" Charon, age 90 passed away on Saturday, February 20th, 2021 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was born May 7th, 1930, in Salyersville KY, to Henry Hudson and Lura Z. (Kilbourn) Patrick. She was a high school graduate of Knoxville TN and later earned her bachelor's degree from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. In the fall of 1952, she came to Tulsa to visit her sister Barbara and decided to stay in Oklahoma. Valentine's Day 1953 she met the love of her life John A. Charon "Jack" at a dance on top of the Mayo Hotel Ballroom. They were married on October 3, 1953 at Christ the King Catholic Church, in Tulsa OK. She worked at McDonald Douglas as a secretary until she became a mother to Elizabeth and Francis "Frank" Charon. Through her life she enjoyed spending time with family, traveling, spending summers in Colorado and shopping with her sister. She played a big part in the young lives of her three grandchildren as they grew up, enjoying every minute of them. She volunteered at St. Pius X Catholic Church, Little Light House, St. Josephs Day Nursery, Tulsa Philharmonic and Go Life Mobil Medical. She was a member of the Serra Club, Knights and Ladies of the Holy Sepulcher. She loved to debate politics and was relentless Pro-Life advocate. She was a devout Catholic with a powerful faith in her Lord and Savior. She was the family's prayer warrior and believed love breeds love. She was a patient woman and always had a smile on her face, living life as a Christian and always thinking of others. She is proceeding in death by her parents, Henry and Lura (Kilbourn) Patrick, her brother-in-law Floyd Harrawood, sister Barbra Harrawood and niece Susan Harrawood Gotcher. She is survived by her husband John A. Charon "Jack", her children, Elizabeth and Francis "Frank"and his wife Sandra. Her grandchildren Stuart, his wife Karen, Alex his wife Elizabeth, Hannah and 3 great grandchildren.
A Rosary will be held, Thursday, February 25th 2021 at 7pm, at Fitzgerald Southwood Colonial Chapel, in Tulsa, OK. Funeral Mass Friday, February 26th 2021 at 10am at, St. Pius X Catholic Church, in Tulsa, OK.
