John Michael Bartlett

Mike Bartlett, Dr. Bartlett was born on March 6, 1948 in Russellville, Arkansas and passed away in Tulsa, OK on January 2, 2015. He is predeceased by his mother Ruby. He is survived by his father, Bernard of Tulsa; wife, Margaret; daughter, Michelle of New York City; and son, Seth and Kacie Brown and their daughter Averie Claire of Shreveport, LA. He had three brothers and one sister. He is remembered lovingly by his eldest sister, Jeanette Bartlett and her son Stephen of Tulsa; his brother, Bernard, Jr. and Jennifer of Owasso and their children. Brittany and Justin Snyder of Tulsa and their children, Ella, Emma, Eden, Ely, and Saegan, Zach and Katy Rogers of Owasso and their children Jackson and Stella, Ashley and Trey Fuss of Owasso and their children MaKenna and Maddux and Matthew Bartlett of Owasso; brother, Joseph and Laurie of Broken Arrow and their children Nathan, and Brian; and the youngest brother, David and Kim of Tulsa and their children Sean, Nicholas, Madelaine and Meredith. The Bartlett family moved to Tulsa, OK in November of 1951 where Mike attended elementary and junior high school. They then moved to Mountainside, New Jersey in 1961 where he attended Berkley Heights Regional High School. Mike graduated from Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minnesota where he discovered a love for medicine. He then attended Medical School at the Universite Libre in Brussels, Belgium. He completed residency in Emergency Medicine in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. After finishing residency he returned to Tulsa and became the first Board Certified ER Physician in Tulsa. He practiced Emergency Medicine at St. John and St. Francis Hospitals as well as the Med Centers in Tulsa and was a member of Emergency Care Inc. He volunteered at the Dan Allen Neighbor for Neighbor clinic for several years. Mike has a wonderful, loving daughter Michelle who followed in his footsteps by becoming a Physician Assistant and practices in New York City. Mike loved going to the beach, golfing, fishing, thunderstorms, Boston Red Sox and the Arkansas Razorbacks. Family was important to him and he enjoyed all of their celebrations. He was a kind, generous and loving man who touched the lives of hundreds of people. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday evening at Fitzgerald Southwood Colonial Chapel from 6:00-8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at Church of the Resurrection on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Tulsa Community Food Bank or Clarehouse.
