Lauren "Lo" Detrich

Lauren "Lo" Chevalier Detrich, 28, of Tulsa, Oklahoma passed away Saturday morning while in the arms of her family. From June 30, 1984 until August 11, 2012, Lo courageously lived with cystic fibrosis. She endured countless surgeries, hospital stays, and three organ transplants. In her in between time, she started multiple companies, among them: Lo's Mows and Nails for the Nineties as well as being a real estate associate for McGraw Realtors. Two thousand years ago, when the disciple Matthew wrote his narrative of the life of Jesus, we firmly believe God, working through the hand of Matthew, left all who knew Lo a specific message in the 28th chapter of the book, the chapter telling the story of the resurrection of Jesus. "Jesus came and told his disciples, "I have been given all authority in heaven and earth. Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And Lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Lo has been a disciple over the last 28 years. She touched our lives in an amazing way. She fully shared herself with anyone with whom she came in contact. Mostly through her actions, and occasionally through her words, she showed us what it means to be faithful and to trust in God. To some of us Lo is a friend in passing, to some of us she is a member of a girls' night out group, to some of us she is an amazing motivational speaker, to some she is the grown up poster child of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, to most she is a comedian. She is also a daughter and sister. She is something different to each of us. How one person can fulfill all these roles is why so many believe she was an angel on earth, sent by God, to help us understand the mysteries of faith. She packed a lifetime of memories into 28 years and anyone who has been lucky enough to share even a single memory with her knows how good she is at taking advantage of a just little bit of time! Lo is survived by her parents Don and Terry Detrich of Tulsa, her sister Jane Detrich of Tulsa, grandparents Mary and Frank Dunn of Tulsa, and countless aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Her grandparents, George and Marie Detrich, both passed away on August 12 of 1999 and 2012 respectively. Services will be held on Wednesday, August 15, at Holy Family Cathedral at 7 PM.
