Elizabeth Ann Flynn

Elizabeth Ann DeGarmo-Brannon-Flynn Age 84, Peacefully passed away at home, while asleep in the early morning of September 7, 2010. Born in Coming, OH on February 8, 1926 to Hobert and Margaret DeGarmo. The oldest of 10, she was the patriarch of the DeGarmo family. Preceded in death by siblings Betty Klinger, Herman, Robert, and Richard DeGarmo. Survived by siblings Eileen Jackson, Kay Feeney, Marion, Raymond, and David DeGarmo. Proud Mother of 11, she was preceded in death by son, Stephen Brannon and survived by her son, Ted Brannon and daughters, Maggie Kennett, Eloise Maxfleld, Pam Harrigill, Pat Keltner, Lisa Cotton, Vickie York, Allison Flynn, Roslynn Collins, and Yvonne Molina. Survived by 21 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Survived by her best friend Peggie Fleener, the family thanks you for your continued support and Maureen Brannon for being there with grace and love to our Mother and Maggie. A Daughter, Sister, Mother and Friend she spent her life in service to others, firstly as a Mother while working at her families restaurant in Roseville, OH. At the age of 40 and after the birth of her youngest, she pursued her dream of becoming a registered nurse, graduating from Ohio State University and started her career at Baylor Hospital, Dallas, TX where she found her calling in Critical Cardiac Care. Moved to Tulsa, OK and became Patient Care Supervisor of ICU/CCU at St Francis Hospital where she worked until she retired. Long time member of the Church of Saint Mary, she volunteered every Friday as the receptionist and served as Eucharistic Minister. She was a member of St Mary's Hilltoppers and The Tulsa County Chapter of the Oklahoma Home & Community Education Club. A woman ahead of her time, she was a pillar of strength and support to all who knew her. Elizabeth instilled in her children strong family values and the importance of hard work, faith, individuality, creativity, intellect, and it is never too late to follow your dreams. After retiring she was blessed with the ability to study and travel abroad; taking trips with church members, family, and friends.
