Winnifred Lee Pryor

November 28, 1922 - January 14, 2022

Winnifred Lee (O'Hern) Sikes Pryor passed away peacefully on January 14, 2022 in Tulsa OK at the age of 99. Winnie retired from Southwestern Power Administration, an agency with the Department of Energy in 1987, where she worked as a bookkeeper. Winnie was born on November 28, 1922 on the family farm in Kingfisher county, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Patrick O'Hern and Jane Duncan O'Hern. She was preceded in death by her parents, all 12 brothers and sisters and her husband Joseph Arnold Sikes. She is survived by her son, Michael Sikes, his wife Dana, 2 grandchildren Tori Walkup, Jason Sikes and 4 great grandchildren Adelyn, Daxton, Brayden and Rylie. She is also survived by 2 Sister in laws Merry Ann Hill and Rita O'Hern along with many nieces and nephews. She is the last remaining child of Patrick and Jane O'Hern. Winnie graduated from Hennessey High School in 1941, and went on to attend the University of Oklahoma. She met the love of her life Joseph Arnold Sikes in Tulsa, where they were married. Winnie and Joe made their home in Tulsa. In her later years until her death, Winnie lived at Aberdeen Heights, Tulsa, where she was an active resident in the community. She participated in all activities and made many friends. Winnie was very active until just a few months prior to her death. She learned new domino and card games in her mid 90's. She will be remembered for her smile and love of family. She adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a wonderful and welcoming hostess, opening her door to anyone who should come by. She had a special love for Jesus and her church where she helped Mike and Dana with their bible study group. She loved flowers and gardening. She was a lifelong member of Eastern Star, serving as Worthy Matron in the 1970's and was a member of her local garden club for many years. She was bright and witty even up until the end of her life. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00am on Friday 1/21/2022 at Fitzgerald's Funeral Service Southwood Chapel (91st & Harvard) with Pastor Bob Pittenger. Burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery, 8 miles east of Hennessey at 3:00 pm 1/21/2022. A visitation will occur on 1/20/2022 at Fitzgerald's Funeral Service from 3:00-5:00pm.
