Obituary

Agnes McFadden, a life well lived.

Agnes McFadden passed peacefully from this life at the age of 91 on Friday, October 9, 2026.

She was born February 3, 1935 on her family's farm in Ottawa County, Oklahoma, the sixth of Lucy and Paul Karleskint's eight children. For all her life, she shared a deep and loving bond with her brothers and sisters, who held a special place in her heart.

After graduating from high school in Chetopa, Kansas, Agnes followed her siblings to Tulsa, Oklahoma, where she worked for companies such as Sinclair Oil & Gas, until she married Michael (Mike) McFadden in 1961 and her life took the shape it was always meant to take.

Agnes and Mike shared a deep devotion to the Catholic faith, were married in the Church of the Madelene, and made their spiritual home at Christ the King Parish beginning in 1969. Together they raised four children and built a marriage that lasted a beautiful 65 years.

They honeymooned in Mexico City and Acapulco, and in the years that followed, packed the kids up in the station wagon for roadtrips to visit friends and family across the country. Later they traveled to both coasts to see their children and other relatives, and made a memorable visit to Japan when their son Dennis and his family were stationed with the Navy.

Her children fondly remember her loving care, her adventurous spirit, her participation in their lives. She volunteered as a Campfire Girl Group Leader and Cub Scout Den Mother.

When the children were a bit older in the late 1970s, Agnes returned to work at Occidental Petroleum.

Agnes loved her garden, growing strawberries and vegetables in her backyard, and was accepted into the Linnaeus Garden Volunteer Program in 2005, where she volunteered for many years.

She also sold Avon products for 35 years to clients all over Tulsa, earning awards for her remarkable sales.

In her later years, she found joy and friendship with the Christ the King Women's Quilting Group.

Agnes is survived by her husband Mike; her children, Terry (Carlos Allende), Molly, Dennis (Angie) and Kelly (Sandra Buigues); and her grandchildren, Jake, Samantha, Colin May (Erin Larkin) and Shannon May.

The family is grateful for the care provided by Leisure Village Healthcare Center and ACG Hospice.

Funeral Mass will be at 1:00 p.m., on Thursday, November 5, 2026, at Christ the King Catholic Church, 16th and Quincy, Tulsa, Oklahoma.
