He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Marguerite Baker, and his daughter Candy Atkins in 2017.

First and foremost, Al had a strong relationship with Jesus Christ.  His next love is his wife Lana of over 43 years, he adored his children, his grandchildren and especially the new great grandchildren.  One always knows in life that a child is the best judge of character and every child was drawn to Al like a magnet. He was simply adored by his grandchildren, nieces and nephews and all the great nieces and nephews.

Outside of his family his love for golf, LSU football and travel would be at the top on his list of interest.  After retirement he had the privilege of traveling to Europe on three separate occasions with numerous other trips throughout the country.  His love for adventure and experiencing new things was endless.  His joy was contagious to watch, he simply loved life!

One of his former co-workers said this week on learning of his passing "Al Baker is the only man I have ever known who had no enemies everyone loved him." Al had a stellar work career that spanned 50 years. He worked in the oil/gas industry in Beaumont, Texas, Mineral Wells, Texas and Tulsa, Oklahoma until his retirement in 2016.

As much as Al has been loved on this earth and will be missed by every member of his family and those who were fortunate enough to call him a friend, he would want all of you reading this to know he is now and for all eternity truly living his best life.
