With heavy hearts, we share the passing of our beloved Alan Francis Engel, who passed away peacefully on October 14, 2026, at the age of 70. Alan was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Alan was born on July 24, 1956, in Hays, Kansas, to Robert Joseph and Wilma Jean Engel. He graduated from Nathan Hale High School in 1974. In 1972, he earned the rank of Eagle Scout, a special achievement that remained a lifelong source of pride. He continued his education at the University of Tulsa, where he earned a bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems in 1985. Alan went on to build a remarkable 37-year career with Hilti Inc., dedicating many years of hard work and service to the company.

On October 21, 1978, Alan married his beloved Brenda Jo, beginning a life together filled with love, family, and cherished memories. Alan had a lifelong passion for hunting and fishing, but the time he spent with his family meant the most to him. His sons and grandchildren were his greatest joy, and nothing made him prouder than watching them grow.

Alan's memory will be lovingly carried on by his wife, Brenda Engel; his sons, Robert Engel and Kyle (Chelsea) Engel; his grandchildren, Charli Engel and Bryar Engel; his sisters, Mary Lawerence, Ann (Dan) Klein, and Carol (Kurt) Barrow; and his many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and loved ones. Each of them will miss his presence and hold close the memories they shared with him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Wilma Engel, whose memory he carried with him throughout his life.

Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of Alan on Thursday, October 22, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Fitzgerald Southwood Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Tulsa. A funeral service celebrating his life will be held at St. Benedict's at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 23.

Alan's kindness, steady presence, and love for his family touched the lives of so many. He will be missed more than words can express, but the love he gave, the memories he created, and the example he set will remain in the hearts of his family and friends forever.
