Albert Anderson

ALBERT ANDERSON went to be with his Jesus on the morning of May 1, 2012!!! Born February 12, 1928 in Mannford, OK, second oldest of nine children, to Claude and Mary Mae Carson Anderson. He entered this world weighing 12 lbs, born at home and delivered by his mid-wife grandmother, Anna Holden Carson. Enlisted and served in the Army Air Corps from 1946-1949 as Parachute Rigger in Japan and Berlin Airlift in Germany and received the World War II Victory Medal. Married 33 years to Geneva Joy Burns of Arkansas, City, KS. He was a member of Tulsa First Church of the Nazarene since 1952, serving 22 years as treasurer. He worked 31 years for Rainbo Bread Co. spending 13 years in Bartlesville, OK. After retiring, he took up golfing and moved to the Osage Golf Course in Adair, OK where he lived on the 18th hole. Albert made many friends there, especially Irene Carter and her family. Needing to help out on the farm, Albert had to quit school after the 7th grade. Education was very important to him. He was very proud that all three of his children had college degrees!! Proceeded in death by parents, brothers Edmund and Jay of Tulsa, OK, Johnny of CA, and Tommie of Sapulpa, OK. Son-in-law, Larry D. Grable and grandchildren Michael David and Joy Michelle Grable of Jenks, OK. Survived by children: Nancy Grable and grandchildren Jonathan Grable and Jilliann Grable of Jenks, OK. Grandson, Larry F. Grable and wife, Christy, great-grandchildren Alexandria and Zander of Edmond, OK. Son, Kevin Anderson of Magnolia, TX. Daughter Beverly and husband, Randy Drew and granddaughter, Allison of Tulsa, OK. Surviving siblings: Leonard and wife Pat of Broken Arrow, OK, Mary Harris of Mannford, OK, Amy Gay of OKC, and Susie and husband Gary Anderson of Midland, TX. Sister-in-laws, Margaret of Tulsa, OK, Velma of California, and Fran of Sapulpa, OK and many nieces and nephews. Albert was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan and a Celebration Service of his life will have a 2:00 pm kickoff time on Sunday, May 6, 2012 at First Church of the Nazarene, 12th and South Delaware Tulsa, OK. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery, Mannford, OK. Visitation is Saturday, May 5th from 9-5, Fitzgerald Ivy Chapel 1420 S. Boulder, Tulsa. To honor Dad’s memory, donations may be made to First Church of the Nazarene. Dad loved to take the offering at his church and wanted to do the same in Heaven. He is helping God up there now!
