Alfred Joseph Karleskint, born June 19, 1929, in Miami, Oklahoma to Paul and Lucy Karleskint, passed away Monday, June 14, 2011. He was the fourth of eight children.
Al was preceded in death by his parents and sister Rita Hill.
During the Korean Conflict, Al served in the Army from 1951 to 1953. After his discharge, he made his home in Tulsa and married Rosemary Butenschoen on November 26, 1955. Al opened Arc Angel Welding Shop in 1962 and continued until his retirement in 1996.
Al is survived by his wife Rosemary, children Phyllis Montgomery (Broken Arrow), Joyce Karleskint (Stillwater), John Karleskint (Tulsa), Janet Karleskint (Tulsa), Mary Blansett (Bristow), David Karleskint (Tulsa), grandchildren Elaine and April Montgomery, Luke and Craig Blansett, Sarah, Will, and Emily Karleskint, brother Lee Karleskint and sisters Florence Lindberg, Thelma Minich, Dorothy Prassa, Agnes McFadden, Theresa Lang, and numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins.
A rosary service will be held Sunday, June 19, at 7 pm and a memorial mass Monday, June 20 at 10 am, both at the Church of the Madalene.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation to support Alzheimer's or your favorite charity.
