Allen R. Ratti (85) passed away in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Monday, June 7, 2010.
He was born May 1, 1925 in Seattle, Washington to Gustavus and Gertrude Ratti. Mr. Ratti joined the United States Marines at 17 and served as a Corporal in the V Amphibious Division on Guam in World War II. He married Mary MacDonald Jenkins in 1948 and upon graduation from Tufts University in 1950 took a job with Conoco in Ft. Worth, Texas.
Mr. Ratti worked for Conoco for 23 years. He came to Tulsa in 1973 to work for C. R. Rittenberry and Assoc. Later he started Mapco International's crude oil trading division. Mr. Ratti finished his career in 1990 as a crude oil trader with Transworld Oil in Bermuda. "Big Al" was known worldwide in the trading industry as one of the best. He was a member of the Petroleum industry's Twenty Five year Club.
Mr. Ratti loved boating and playing golf. He is survived by his wife Mary; brother Ricardo Ratti; daughters Robin Brown, Debra Frederick and Beverly Dejean; son-in-law Randy Frederick and grandsons Allen Brown, Gregory Brown and Cooper Frederick.
