Obituary

Ami Paige Whitlow-Brown, 41, of Tulsa, went to be with her Lord on March 14, 2017, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was an inspiration to many, is deeply loved, and will be missed by all whose lives she touched. Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, on Tuesday, March 21, 2017, at Redeemer Covenant Church, in Tulsa, with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday from 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM, at Fitzgerald Southwood Colonial Chapel.
Ami was born in Enid, Oklahoma on September 22, 1975, the daughter of Albert O. and Shirley (Branson) Whitlow. She grew up in the Weatherford, OK area, having graduated from high school there. She then went on to college at Northeastern Oklahoma State University, in Tahlequah, OK, earning her Bachelor's Degree, thus enabling her pursuit of her professional passion… teaching. She had most recently been a special education teacher at the Jenks Freshman Academy, before her illness forced her to take a break from teaching. Ami loved her students, and co-workers. She was proud to be a Jenks Trojan, and a part of the Jenks Public School family. Ami loved to run. She enjoyed participating in various marathons, earning medals for her participation. As much as she enjoyed teaching and running, her true joy came from her family. The love Ami had for her husband, their children, her parents, siblings, nieces, nephews, and numerous other family members and many friends was unparalleled. Her legacy of love will live on in each one of them.
Ami is survived by her husband, the love of her life, Kyle C. Brown, their children, Kaden Whitlow "Whit" Brown, Chandler Paige Brown, and Beckett Winston Brown, her parents, Albert O. "Ab" Whitlow, and Shirley Ferguson Branson, both of Tulsa, grandmother, Ann Whitlow Pippenger, of Cushing, OK, sister, Kari (Whitlow) Purdie, and her husband, Roderick, of Tulsa, brother, Zackri Whitlow, and his wife, Brooke, of Langley, OK, father and mother in law, Ken and Gail Brown, of Avinger, TX, brothers in law, Kenny Brown, and his wife, Lori, of New Braunfels, TX, and Kevin Brown, and his wife, Cathy, of Dallas, TX, nephews, Jack Ferguson Purdie, Owen Roderick Purdie, and Brigham Charles Brown, nieces, Maggie Purdie, and Ava Elizabeth Brown, and numerous extended family members, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Troy and Wilma Ferguson, and grandfather, Zane Whitlow.
