Obituary

Angela Ellen (Pace) Braun passed away August 26, 2026, at the age of 91. Born in Wichita, Kansas, on July 18, 1935, Angie was one of nine children born to Mary Evelyn (Hoppe) and Clifford Pace. Angie was raised in Chickasha, Oklahoma, where she was graduated from Saint Joseph's Academy before continuing her education at Saint Anthony's School of Nursing, and eventually the University of Oklahoma where she attained her BSN. Her career took her to Houston before returning to Oklahoma City, where she met her husband of 62 years, Frank Braun. Frank and Angie had two daughters, Julie and Jennifer, by the time they relocated to Tulsa in 1968 and decided to put down permanent roots. Angie stayed active in the community volunteering at Neighbor for Neighbor and Meals on Wheels. After raising her girls, she became an avid tennis player and had a successful career in Real Estate with Boh-Mont Realtors. She was a dedicated Catholic, attending both Resurrection and Saint Mary parishes over her time in Tulsa. Her family and friends will remember her as someone who loved gardening, antiquing, playing bridge and trips to the casino with her sisters.

The family would like to thank all the caregivers from InCare, Inverness, and Suncrest Hospice for their compassionate care of Angie over the years, especially during these past several weeks.

She is survived by daughters Julie Skrzypczak and Jennifer Wood (Joby), grandchildren Matthew and John Skrzypczak, Elizabeth (Skrzypczak) and Dayton Bowie, and Sarah Wood, sisters Mary Kay Howell and Dorothy Bingham, and brother Dick Pace. She is preceded in death by her parents Evelyn and Clifford Pace, brothers Gerry, Gene (Fran), and Kenneth (Barbara) Pace and sisters Jacqueline (Jim) O'Shea and Pat (Bruce) Goss, and grandson Andrew Wood.

A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, September 4, at 11:00 a.m. at Church of Saint Mary. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to the Andrew Wood Memorial Scholarship at the University of Kansas, Andrew Wood Memorial Scholarship Campaign or the charity of your choice.
