Ann Marie Roselle, age 68, peacefully passed away on June 24, 2025 in Tulsa, Oklahoma surrounded by family. She was born on August 18, 1956 in Sparta, Wisconsin to parents Howard and Virginia Rasmussen. Ann grew up on the family farm in Tomah with her parents and four brothers, Bob, Bill, Bruce, and Brian. Her education began in a one room school house of which she had fond memories. She graduated from Tomah High School and the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire with a bachelors in elementary and special education. During a summer job at Ft. McCoy, Wisconsin, Ann met her now husband of 46 years John Roselle, Jr. After nearly two years of dating, they developed a deep love and were married on April 28, 1979. They became a dynamic duo driven by the same values and dreams, sharing a commitment to care for one another, their family, and their community.
After living and working in Wisconsin, Ann and John moved to Vicksburg, Mississippi for John's career with the U.S Army Corps of Engineers. While in Mississippi, John and Ann welcomed their son John III and oldest daughter Maria to the world. Ann cherished her years in Mississippi and always considered the time there very special. The family moved to Edgewood, Kentucky where they welcomed two more daughters, Kristina and Rebecca, into the family. In 1994, the family made their final move to Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Ann was a dedicated and selfless mother, who found special ways to encourage and help her children develop their unique gifts. She was fully present to celebrate the joyful moments and provide comfort in the difficult times. Even when her children were living in another state for school or work, she would always say she was "just a phone call away" and she truly meant it.
Ann was steadfast in her Catholic faith and lived it in her words and actions. She worked as a tutor and paraprofessional for several years at Marquette Catholic School, helping to develop the RISE program for students with disabilities. Ann built lasting friendships with the students, families, and teachers that she worked with each day. She was known for her friendly and welcoming spirit and helped make everyone feel seen and understood. She had a warm smile, infectious giggle, and quick wit. Ann would go the extra mile to help someone in need and could uplift someone when they were feeling at their lowest. She loved nature and would pull over on the side of the road to help a turtle cross the street and recognized the simple beauty in the tiniest wildflower.
Ann was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer's disease in 2018 at Mayo Clinic. While Ann experienced the immense cognitive and physical change and loss that comes with the disease, her core remained intact and unchanged. She never stopped loving and caring for others or expressing her gratitude to the people that supported her and her family along this journey. Ann remained committed to helping others until the very end, participating in a research study at Johns Hopkins University in 2020-2021 and donating her brain for scientific research at the time of her passing.
Ann is survived by her husband John Roselle Jr, son John Roselle III, daughters Maria, Kristina, and Rebecca Roselle, grandsons John IV, Joseph, and Nicholas Roselle, and brothers Bob, Bill, Bruce, and Brian Rasmussen. Ann is preceded in death by her parents Howard and Virginia Rasmussen. A funeral mass is scheduled for 1pm on July 8, 2025 at Christ The King Catholic Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Memorial donations can be made in memory of Ann Roselle to Mayo Clinic (give.mayoclinic.org). Please specify that the donation is for the Department of Neurology for Alzheimer's Disease Research.
