Anne Louise Bodley Rupe, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, passed away peacefully at home on September 8, 2025, surrounded by her family.
Born July 12, 1942, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Anne devoted her life to family, service, and community. A longtime resident of Tulsa, she attended the University of Tulsa where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority and met the love of her life, John Rupe, Sr. Anne was a sustainer member of the Junior League of Tulsa, where she shared her time and talents on countless projects that uplifted and supported others. She loved showing horses, water skiing and spending time with friends and family at Grand Lake. Her generous heart and unwavering commitment to service touched countless lives.
Anne's proudest role was as a mother to her three children: Lorie Anne Rupe Lord, Sandy Rupe, and John Rupe Jr. She instilled in them values of kindness, compassion, and perseverance. Her family remembers her warm laughter, her steadfast support, and the joy she brought to every gathering. To her grandchildren, she was affectionately known as their Nana, a constant source of love and strength.
Anne is survived by her husband, John Rupe Sr.; daughter Sandy Rupe and her fiance Greg Hollinger; son John Rupe Jr. and his wife Stephanie; son-in-law Raymond Lord and his wife Kristi; grandchildren Ashley Lord Reed and husband Corey, Chase Lord, Hunter Lord and wife Ashlyn, Brittany Whitescarver, Tanner Whitescarver, Grant Rupe, Griffin Rupe, step-grandsons Reed & Ryan Stallsmith, Ryan & Kathryn Hollinger; and great-grandchildren Lorie Parker Reed and Luca Beck Lord and sister Kay Bodley Holmes and her husband Barry; sister Sandy Bodley Sims and her husband Larry; niece Shelley Holmes and nephews Riley Holmes, Elliott Sims & Evan Sims. Anne was preceded in death by her daughter, Lorie Anne Rupe Lord; her brother, Ted Bodley Jr.; and her parents, Ted and Virginia Bodley.
Anne's life was a beautiful blend of service, love, and laughter. Her example will continue to inspire, and her memory will be deeply cherished by all who knew her.
A service celebrating Anne's life will be held on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church in downtown Tulsa. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Lorie Rupe Lord Breast Cancer Foundation which honors Anne's daughter's legacy by supporting those in financial need as they face the challenges of breast cancer.
