Barbara Jean (Arterburn) Taber went to be with her Lord May 14, 2012. She was born in Enid, Ok. on October 9, 1951. She battled her Ovarian Cancer for 9 months. Barbara was a wonderful wife of 43 years, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend to many. She most cherished her time with her children and grandchildren. She loved golf and was a 7 time Kansas WGA Champion. Even though she loved the game, she most loved her association with her golf buddies and associates. She once said people don't remember who wins tournaments but they do remember if you are nice to people. Barbara was preceded in death by her father James Douglas Arterburn and is survived by her mother Eleanor Francis (Ciskowski) Arterburn. Husband, Albert F. Taber, children and grandchildren; son Chad Taber of Jenks, Ok and his wife Shea and their children Kendall, Trent, Jordan James and Clara. Daughter Melanie Watters of Moore, Ok and her husband Todd and their children Braxton, Dreyson, Kylan and London. Son Troy Taber of Tulsa, Ok, sisters Peggy Cooper and husband Chip of Bristow, Ok, Karen Junghanns and husband Carter of Jenks, Ok, Joan Kretchmar and her husband Randy, Lisa Skrdla, Cindy Pratt and husband Ronnie all of Medford, Ok and brother Bob Arterburn and wife Jan of Wichita, KS and numerous nephews and nieces and extended family. A visitation will be held from 1:00-4:00PM Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at Fitzgerald Southwood Colonial Chapel followed by a wake service on Wed. evening at 7:00PM at St. Bernards Catholic Church in South Tulsa. The Funeral will be Thursday May 17th at St. Bernards Catholic Church at 11:00AM and a graveside service in Medford, OK at appx. 4:30PM that same day.
