Obituary

Barbara Ann Muselmann, 78, died May 13, 2013 following a long illness. Barbara was born in Tulsa's Morningside Hospital, now Hillcrest. She is survived by: her husband Clifford Muselmann; three children from her first marriage; Linda Godinez, Wes Henson and wife Cindy, and Ben Henson and wife Julie; Step-children Deborah Moon and husband W.R., Ann Kerfoot, Clifford Muselmann and wife Mary, Michael Muselmann and wife Dianna, John Muselmann and wife Diane, Suzanne Wills and husband Derek, Donald Muselmann and wife Yvonna, and Cay Medellin and husband John. Barbara is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, 26 step-grandchildren and 3 step-great-grandchildren. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, George and Frances Barber, four siblings and second husband of 32 years, Burt VerNoov.
Barbara was a graduate of Daniel Webster High School, Class of 1953 and was active in Webster's Alumni Association. She attended OU, majoring in journalism, later becoming an author contracted by Double Day Publishers, Tulsa Tribune, and a variety of other publications. A play that Barbara wrote was produced and performed throughout Canada and Eastern Europe.
She studied theology and became a Certified Catholic Chaplain and completed her internship at Baptist Hospital in Oklahoma City, then served as a chaplain at St. Francis Hospital here in Tulsa, later working for a local parish where she met her husband Clifford.
For Barbara, family always came first. She enjoyed gardening, painting and writing. Cooking was one of her passions that she shared with underprivileged children as an OSU extension course. Giving was always her greatest joy. She requested that anyone wishing to honor her memory should donate to Church of the Resurrection, Justice Fund 'In lieu of flowers'.
Service will be held at Resurrection Church on Friday, 11 A.M. A private interment will be held at Calvary Cemetery.
