Elizabeth Reeder was born Elizabeth Gorgas on August 27, 1949 in Jones, OK to her parents Chester Gorgas and Beatrice Pastusek Gorgas. Her siblings were Chester Jr and Joseph. She died on July 11, 2023.
Elizabeth was a devoted wife and mother. She was married to David Harl Sr in 1970 and is survived by her three children; David, Zach and Chris Harl. She was married again in 2012 and is survived by her husband Jim Reeder. She was a grandmother to Saidi, Aiden, Izzy, Quinn and Hadley Ann Harl.
Elizabeth had a full life, she graduated Tulsa University with a bachelors in medical records and later her Doctorate as a Clinical Psychologist. She spent her career as a psychologist giving compassionate counseling in private practice and also worked at St John's hospital for nearly 30 years as a counselor and teaching healthy lifestyles and rehabilitation.
She was an accomplished oil painter and won numerous awards for her art in the Tulsa community. With an eye for beautiful outdoor scenes, she was known for her use of light and color in her paintings.
Above all Elizabeth was a devoted Catholic who gave her time in service to others. She frequently volunteered in programs and missions working with people in need. She was kind and loving to everyone she knew. In her later years she was married to Jim Reeder and together enjoyed retirement and loved to travel. Everyone that knew Elizabeth, knew her as a true example of a kind, loving and generous person. A true servant of God and a devoted family member.
Rosary will be at 6:30 p.m., on Wednesday, July 19th, and Funeral Mass will be at 12:00 p.m., on Thursday, July 20th, both at Parish of Christ the King, in Tulsa.
