Donald (Beau) Russell Bowman, age 66, passed away on October 13, 2024, at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Beau was born on April 10, 1958, in Mt. Holly, NJ, and was the son of the late William and Dorothy Bowman. He attended Rancocas Regional Valley High School, where he played varsity football and wrestling. Beau then furthered his education at Union University in Jackson, TN. Later he graduated from the Church on the Move School of Ministry in Tulsa, OK.
While at Union University, he met and married the love of his life, Lisa. They were married 44 years and had three amazing children.
Beau first apprenticed as a plumber and then opened his own business, Bowman Plumbing and Heating Company. While living in Jackson, Beau received Jesus as his Savior and Lord and began assisting in the local church. He moved to Tulsa to attend Church of the Move School of Ministry. This led to years of ministry for children, youth, and college students. He became licensed through Church on the Move and was also a Children's Pastor in Arkansas. Beau returned to Tulsa and raised his family there. He worked for years at Rainbow Plumbing in Tulsa.
Beau was a devoted husband and father. He centered his home on God's Word and taught his children the importance of faithfulness and diligence. He modeled an unselfish lifestyle that embedded faith in Jesus and a willingness to serve others. Beau could carry on a conversation with anyone. He enjoyed people and believed that everyone was intelligent in some way. You just had to listen to find out what they could teach you.
Beau adored his grandkids. He was an avid Tennessee football fan and loved fishing. He was also passionate about helping others. He made many friends throughout his life by showing up when needed. He was creative and detailed. He could fix almost any problem or build a totally new solution. He loved America and cared deeply about the direction of our country. His family and friends will always remember him as a kind, loyal, and caring person who loved the Lord.
Beau is survived by his wife, Lisa Bowman, and his children, Johnny Bowman (Jamie), Stephen Bowman (Laura), and Anna Bowman Whitehouse (Jake). He was a wonderful grandfather to Kate Bowman, Elizabeth Bowman, Charlotte Bowman, Avery Bowman, Jenny Bowman, Dolly Bowman and August Whitehouse. His sister Patricia Jean Riley and her children, Michael and Kait, along with great nephew and great nieces, live in New Jersey.
Thank you to all the family and friends who knew and loved Beau so much. A Celebration of Life service is scheduled for Friday, October 18, at 2:30 pm at Church on Move's Tulsa main campus.
