Benjamin Hale Renshaw, 74, of Tulsa, OK, passed away Thursday, December 22, 2011 at St. John Medical Center. Memorial Services
will be held at St. Dunstan's Episcopal Church, 5635 E. 71st St., Tulsa, OK, on Friday, January 6, at 1:00 PM. Memorial
contributions may be made to St. Dunstan's. Ben was born February 21, 1937, in Philadelphia, PA, to Benjamin H, Renshaw, Jr., Deputy District Attorney in Philadelphia,
and Elizabeth Cookson, a dress salon proprietor. Ben's grandfather, Benjamin H. Renshaw,
was a municipal judge in Philadelphia. Ben served as a Senior Executive with the Department of Justice in Washington, DC prior to his retirement in 2001. Ben earned a Bachelor of Science in Economics and Political Science from the University of Pennsylvania in 1958, and a Masters in Governmental Administration from the University of Pennsylvania in 1960. Shortly thereafter, Ben joined a brief tour with the U.S. Army in Seoul, South Korea, following the Korean War. Afterward, Ben began a ten-year
"nomadic" journey across the United States prior to entering his professional career. Ben is survived by his wife of 17 years, Davelene, of Tulsa, OK, two stepsons: Mark Long of Tulsa, OK; and Gary Long of Overland Park, KS, cousins: Philip Widing of Warren, CT; and Jan Van Gilder of Washington, DC.
