Bennie Carasbia Fizer Jr., age 91 of Tulsa, Oklahoma died Tuesday, January at St John's Hospital. He was born April 14, 1924 to Bennie Carasbia and Adeline Catherine Schwab Fizer in Lexington, Missouri.
Ben is survived by his wife Bernice; daughter Karen of Burkburnett, TX and son Rick of Tulsa; two sisters, Shirley Johnson of Independence, MO and preceded in death by; sister, Doris Ellis; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and one great great-grandchild.
Ben was a great family man and husband to Bernice for 72 years. Ben was a Coast Guard boatswain's mate stationed at Sheepshead Bay, NY during World War II. During his service, Ben loved retrieving AWOL service men and breaking up bar fights. After the war, Ben managed a Five & Dime in Slater, Missouri and became a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason in Kansas City, MO. After moving his family to Tulsa in 1952, Ben worked as a salesman and manager of various steel warehouses. He enjoyed outdoor activities with daughter Karen's Girl Scout troops and Rick's Boy Scout Troop 26, where he was ultimately known as the "Fizer Dude". Vacations with family and casino fun with Bernice became the passions in later life.
