Bernice Stekoll, 92, passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2013 in Kansas City.

She was born December 26, 1920 in Chicago, Illinois to Bessie (Schneider) and Herman Wolf. When her father died, her mother married Samuel Plost and she was raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma as a family with his daughters Ann (Winer) and Ethel (Salle) and then brothers David and Herbert Plost. Through her life she excelled at being a beautiful person inside and out. She was married to Raymond Stekoll for 62 years before his death in 2009. She was dedicated to him throughout his life, taking extraordinary care of him during his last years. She raised her children Louis and Susan in Wichita, Kansas, actively involved in their pursuits. She welcomed daughter-in-law, Katherine into the family as one of her own. She has one grandson, Michael with whom she had a very special relationship. She was most proud to be the mother, mother-in-law and grandmother of her children and grandchild watching them grow and mature. She is fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Bernice was strong and active with a sharp mind until the end enjoying a full and contented life. Throughout the years she lived in Tulsa, Wichita, Las Vegas and Kansas City, and easily bonded with people making many friends along the way. She is greatly missed.

A graveside service was held at 1 p.m., Friday March 15, 2013 at Rose Hill Cemetery in Tulsa Oklahoma.
