Our beloved Betty Jean Steffen, age 90 passed into the arms of Jesus in Tulsa, OK on Monday, March 18th. She was born August 24, 1928 in Omaha Nebraska to Ralph and Viola Johnsen. Baptized September 29, 1929. Confirmed May 1948 as a Lutheran with memory verse Psalm 143:10 "Teach me to do what you want. You are my God. May your good Spirit lead me on even ground." She married Paul Joseph Steffen on June 20, 1948.  She loved Jesus, her family, labradors, and the color pink. She is preceded in death by her husband Paul Steffen and daughter Debbie Steffen, at the age of 17 years old, and looked forward to rejoicing in heaven with them. She is survived by her 3 children Sally Korstad (m. John Korstad), Mark Steffen (m. Barb Steffen), and Tim Steffen (m. Erika Steffen). Her grandchildren Shauna Brace (m. Mark Brace), Sarah Vanse (m. Ethan Vanse), Joya Minard (m. Aaron Minard), and Janna Burkus (m. David Burkus). Her 10 great grandchildren Owen, Emma, Shane, Wyatt, Colton, Lincoln, Abigail, Eloise, Harrison, and Magnolia. Her memorial service will be held on Friday, March 22nd at 1pm at Grace Lutheran Church, 2331 E. 5th Pl, Tulsa, OK 74104. Burial to follow immediately after at Calvary Cemetery at 2:45pm and fellowship time at the Korstad Family home at 4pm. In memory of Betty Steffen donations can be made in her honor to MEND Crisis Pregnancy Outreach, Concordia Mission Society or Concordia Theological Seminary.
