Beulah (Kay)M. Wolitarsky, 95, passed away on May 15, 2010 in Tulsa, OK. The daughter of Edward W. Kemmet and Julia (Wagner) Kemmet, she was born in Baltimore, MD and grew up in Cumberland, MD. Kay graduated in 1932 from Allegany High School in Cumberland, MD and earned her Registered Nurse certification and license (RN) in 1936 from The University of the State of New York. The following year, she married Edward Wolitarsky and they settled in North Tarrytown, NY where they raised four children. From 1961 to 1974 she was an Obstetrics Nurse at Phelps Memorial Hospital in North Tarrytown, NY. kay moved briefly to Hagerstown, MD in 194 and then to Houston, TX in 1975. She has lived in Tulsa, OK since 1983 where she has enjoyed the friendship of many individuals.
Kay was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Julia Kemmet, husband Edward Wolitarsky, brother Glen Kemmett, dauaghter Carol (Wolitarsky) Zarrow and a granddaughter Lisa (Pulaski) Gagliano. She is survived by three children, Judith (Wolitarsky) Pulaski of Schertz, TX, James W. Wolitarsky of Villanova, PA and Robert E. Wolitarsky of Baldwinsville, NY. She is also survived by five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at Fitzgerald Southwood Colonial Chapel, 3612 E. 91st Street, Tulsa, OK at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 20, 2010. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a donation in her name may do so to either the Tulsa Jewish Retirement and Health Center, 2025 E. 71st St, Tulsa, OK 74136 or to the University of Texas, M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, Development Office, P.O. Box 4486, Houston, TX 77210 with a notation of "Dr. Bast, Ovarian Cancer Program".
