Bill Hatch died on September 28, 2026 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was born on December 7, 1952 to William & Dorothy Hatch in Detroit, Michigan. The family, with all eight siblings in tow, moved to Opelousas, Louisiana in 1966. Bill attended The Academy of the Immaculate Conception for high school where he loved being a part of the baseball and football teams. But, most importantly, that is where he met Aleyce Couvillon. He was awarded a full scholarship to Tulane University for football. Bill and Aleyce were always a pair and married on January 4, 1975 surrounded by family and friends at Saint Landry Catholic Church in Opelousas.
Bill graduated from Tulane University with a bachelors of science in chemical engineering in 1975. He then began his professional career in Lake Charles, Louisiana at Citgo Petroleum Corporation. Bill and Aleyce welcomed their first daughter, Libby in 1978. Two short years later, Annie arrived. Emily was born in 1987 and the family was complete. Bill spent his life enjoying sports, as a softball coach, a T ball coach, and a Detroit Tigers and University of Oklahoma football fan.
The Hatch family moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1993 and Bill went everyday to the Citgo building on 61st & Yale where he enjoyed his work and colleagues. He retired after 34 years of service as the Chief Operating Officer of the company. Bill then became "POP" and his world got that much brighter. He was a very dedicated grandfather to his eight grandchildren. The sight of his red truck assured everyone of them that all would be well. He coached their baseball teams, drove them to countless practices, cooked thousands of meals, taught them to build things and trade stocks. He will remain an enormous fixture in their lives.
Bill is survived by the love of his life, Aleyce Hatch. His daughter Libby, her husband Scott Weatherholt, and their three sons, Will, Bryce, and David. Bill's daughter, Annie and her husband Matt Armstrong, and their children Logan and Lauren. His daughter Emily, and her husband Jason Hollaway, and their three daughters, Linley, Blair, and Maren. He is also survived by his seven sisters, Maureen Stockwell, Joellyn Grass, Laurie Going, Julie Hall, Suzie Hargroder, Janine Hopper, and Barbara Steiner.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
