Billie R. Halsey of Tulsa, Oklahoma (formerly of Independence, Kansas) died peacefully in her sleep Sunday, November 4, 2012 at the family residence.
Billie was born June 11, 1926 in Independence, Missouri to Frank and Vernice (May) Rotermund. She Attended the University of Kansas earning a degree in Commercial Art in May of 1948 and marrying William M. Halsey on September 7 of the same year. After college they resided in Independence, Tulsa and Dallas, Texas raising two children and retiring in Tulsa in 2001. Billie resided in Miller Hall in college, was a member of PEO, and a member of Epiphany Episcopal Independence, St. Dunstan's Tulsa and St. Matthais Dallas.
She is preceded in death by both parents, husband Bill and sister Betty Cofer of Winter Park Florida. Billie is survived by daughter Susan K. Archer (Chris) of Tulsa, Oklahoma; son Kevin M. Halsey (Sue) of Wichita, Kansas; four grandchildren Carrilee Beyard, Megan Summers, Sean and Kelly McGee; five great grand children Mikasia Beyard, Nia Arambula, R.J. and Bailey Mcgee and Isabella Johnson.
There will be a viewing at Penwell-Gabel Webb Roderick Chapel, Independence, Kansas Friday, November 9, 2012 from 9am-2:30pm with burial following at 3pm at Mount Hope Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the ASPCA in her honor.
