Bobbie was born Balbina Alice Rodriguez on Friday, April 24th, 1931 to Leo and Dora Rodriguez in Hartshorne, Ok. Bobbie transitioned to heaven on Saturday, November 3rd, 2018, having lived a blessed and full life for 87 years.
Bobbie graduated from Central High School, Tulsa, Oklahoma in May 1949. She worked various jobs both in high school and after, including at the Little Mexico Café near the old coal mines in Tulsa. She grew up in the post-depression era and those hard times instilled in her the importance of thrift; how to manage money; how to "get by" on what they had; and to not rely on handouts.
In the summer of 1950, Bobbie met Bud Muckenthaler and the two were married on June 9, 1951, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Tulsa. Their marriage strengthened for 59 years, 3 months, and 2 days. They had 4 beautiful children, Cindy Smith, Tom Muckenthaler, Carol Bryan and Cathy Richardson, who honored them with 13 grandchildren: Tim, Jason, David, Jamie, Alan, Jenna, Jake, Meghan, Cory, Daniel, Amanda, Alyssa and Brady; and 8 great-grandchildren: Dillon, Haley, Lilly, Josephine, Grace, Oliver, Avery and Liam. Their children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren were Bobbie's greatest joy and she was so very proud of every one of them. Bobbie was the model homemaker, stretching every dollar to ensure her family had everything they needed. She dedicated her life to taking care of her children and her home, and contributing greatly at church. She was an incredible cook and became famous for her delicious Mexican food.
Bobbie and Bud were active members of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church for over 45 years. They didn't just talk about faith; they lived it, and were role models in their love of Jesus Christ and Virgin Mary. Mom's faith and dedication to the community was exemplified by countless hours she dedicated to Meals on Wheels and other charities.
Bobbie was preceded in death by her husband Bud, father Leo, mother Dora, sister Josephine, and grandson Cory. She is also survived by her brother Leo Rodriguez, and sisters Beulah and Delores.
