Bob Broyles of Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away at the age of 86 on March 27, 2024. Known for his resilience, hardworking nature, kind spirit, and sense of humor, Bob left a lasting impact on all who knew him.
Born to William Alva "Rabbit" and Edna Lee Broyles on September 3, 1937, in Crescent, Oklahoma, Bob married his high school sweetheart, Ella Mae Swanson on March 31, 1961. The family is comforted knowing they will celebrate their 63rd wedding anniversary together again.
After serving in the United States Air Force and earning his degree in Accounting from Central State University, Bob dedicated 30 years of his life to Oklahoma Gas & Electric Company. He was known for his dedication to his work and his commitment to providing for his family.
Outside of work, Bob enjoyed fishing, playing cards, traveling, and making others laugh with his quick wit and sense of humor. However, his greatest joy came from spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Bob cherished every moment spent with them, whether it was sharing a strawberry milkshake or telling funny stories.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Rabbit and Edna Broyles, his brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Faye Broyles, and his beloved wife, Ella Mae Broyles. He is survived by his daughter, Sandra, and spouse David Berg of Atlanta, Georgia; granddaughter Dakota and spouse Jordan Simmons and three great-grandchildren Harper, Xander, and Hendrix; grandson Skylar and spouse Kara Little; and many other family and friends who will always remember him fondly.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bob's honor to the Alzheimer's Association, a cause that was close to his heart. Bob will be remembered for his resilience, hard work, kindness, and sense of humor that brightened the lives of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed but forever cherished in the hearts of those who loved him.
A private family service will be held to honor his life and legacy.
