Obituary

Bonnie Jean Tupper was born at Riverton, Nebraska, on February 21, 1932, to Clifford Orvil and Marie Jane Jennings Tupper. She grew up on a farm, with her siblings Keith, Donna, and Roger. She had many stories about life on the farm, including the many changes that took place during her childhood – moving from outhouses to indoor plumbing, iceboxes to refrigerators, and horse-drawn equipment to tractors. She graduated from Wilcox High School in 1949, and went to Nebraska State Teacher's College (later Kearney State College) at Kearney, Nebraska. She then taught for two years in a small (one-room) country school.
Bonnie was studying Home Economics at Hastings College when she met Kenneth Core. They married on June 15, 1952, and over the following years had four sons: Allan, Jerome, Stanley, and Mark. Bonnie had several jobs when the boys were young, and decided to complete her education in the field of accounting. She graduated from the University of Tulsa in 1984 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. She then passed the CPA exam and worked as an accountant for various companies until she retired at age 77.
Bonnie and Kenneth divorced in 1985; from that time until her death, she sometimes shared her home with one of her sons, but always shared it with a succession of furry children – her cats. Bonnie had been a long-time member of the former Will Rogers Heights Christian Church; for the last several years, she had attended First United Methodist Church of Tulsa. She loved books, music, and family. She never missed a performance of the Tulsa Ballet. She loved to travel, especially cruises with her sister Donna or the YWCA water aerobics group. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and, in the past 3 years, with great-grandchildren.
Bonnie made the transition to her new life on February 23, 2015. Bonnie was preceded in death by parents, Clifford and Marie Tupper, brother Keith Tupper, sons Allan Core and Jerome Core. She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law Stanley and Robbie Core, Mark and Lora Core; grandchildren and spouses Matthew and Sarah Core, Zachary Core, Sean and Stacie Adams, Christie Core, Mara Core and James Core; great-grandchildren William Core and Trenton and Treydon Adams.
