Braden William
Uhlmann
April 28, 2004 – April 4, 2026
Our beloved Brady was taken from us far too soon. He was born in Minnesota on April 28, 2004 and from birth was larger than life, not just in size but in love and compassion for everyone he ever met.
Brady was a lifelong athlete, his love for football began early. He played flag football a year before eligible and after a move to Texas he was a top draft pick in the Frisco Football league where he dominated on the offensive line. After a season off due to a broken arm, Brady quickly became a starter at Staley Middle School where he again established his prowess as an aggressive and talented offensive lineman. Upon graduation from middle school, Brady attended the newly opened Memorial High School where as a freshman he again dominated on the offensive line. As a 15 year old sophomore, Brady was a starting offensive tackle for the varsity team where he held his own against much older and experienced competition. For his Junior and Senior seasons Brady transitioned to the defensive line and as a Senior he garnered First Team All District honors. Brady also competed in powerlifting and as a Senior he set the regional bench press record at 405 pounds. After graduation Brady went to Kilgore College where he transitioned back to offensive line and by the end of his Freshman season was a starting offensive tackle for a championship team. He transitioned to offensive guard for his second season at Kilgore and won a second consecutive conference championship. After Kilgore, Brady spent the spring with SFA football but due to injuries, decided to hang up the cleats and focus on academics.
At SFA he was an Accounting major and was set to graduate this December. He was looking forward to completing his degree and pursuing a Master's degree as well as taking the CPA exam.
In his free time, Brady found joy in the worlds of Star Wars, Harry Potter, and Lord of the Rings. He had a deep fascination with history, tanks, and even built his own computer. He loved a late night gaming session with his buddies, you know who you are! Beyond those interests, he remained an avid weightlifter and recently had taken to long hikes, completed a 5K run and was planning on another this spring. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and cherished the company of his beloved 4 dogs and 3 cats.
Brady was a respectful man, he always opened car doors for ladies, held a door for anyone, and addressed people politely with a 'yes ma'am or yes sir.' Brady's love extended far beyond his biological family; he was a son to many. To the families in Minnesota and Texas who claimed him as one of your own, THANK YOU for loving him as we did. To the coaches who mentored him and pushed him to be his best, THANK YOU for seeing his potential and guiding him in the right direction. To his teammates for always being there in the trenches, he loved you fiercely. To his friends, just as he protected his family, he would protect you like no one else.
He is survived by his father, Bill Uhlmann (Holly); mother Amy Calhoun (Troy), sister Josephine Uhlmann, bonus siblings Caroline, Barrett, and Braden Pesterfield, Casey Calhoun (Lauren), Carley Clamon (Scott), Kayley Lewis (John), two precious nieces Olivia and Emma Clamon. Grandparents Ken Uhlmann (Mary), Sam Weaver (Jamie). As well as Uncles and Aunts: Wendy Schmidt (Joe), J.R. Uhlmann, David Weaver, Scott Lyman (Angie) and Dustin Weaver (Adele) and so many loving cousins in Oklahoma and Wisconsin.
He is preceded in death by his grandmothers Nancy Uhlmann, Carolyn Weaver, Jackie Calhoun and Argentina Perez.
A celebration of Brady's life will be announced at a later date. We ask for you to remember him fondly with the same immense love and light he gave while he was here. He is forever young.
