Bruce C. "B.C." Williams was born August 10th, 1934 to Frank A. and Margaret W. (Cameron) Williams. He passed away on July 24, 2012 at home surrounded by his family.
He was a graduate of Will Rogers High School in Tulsa and received a degree from Tulsa Junior College. Bruce served in the U.S. Navy from 1951-1955. Following his time in the service, Bruce married Elizabeth Rule on November 3rd, 1955 and was blessed with two children..
Bruce worked for the Tulsa Police Department at the animal shelter for 40 years. During his son's youth he was very involved with the Boy Scouts of America. He also enjoyed family hunting, fishing and camping trips.
Bruce was known for his garden and titled it God's Garden. He donated the fruits of his labor to many different organizations and individuals and was referred to as the Okra Man.
After retiring, Bruce became an active member of the American Legion, Mohawk Post 308, where great and lasting friendships were developed.
Family was an important part of Bruce's life and he cherished the time spent with his three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. And was looking forward to the birth of his first great-great-grandchild due in August.
Bruce is survived by his wife, Elizabeth: His daughter, Karen Howerton and husband Richard "Rick": His son, Jim Williams and wife Lolly: Three granddaughters, Kara Beeler and husband Wes, Louise and Lizzy Williams: Two great-granddaughters, Breanna Beeler and fiancé Brandon Dowling and Kelsie Beeler: One great-grandson, Jacob Beeler: Sister, Nina Lafayette and several nieces and nephews: Lifelong friend, Ken Doll.
Visitation will be Sunday, Noon to 4:30 PM, and a Rosary will be said at 6 PM, Sunday evening, both at Fitzgerald Ivy Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 AM, Monday at St. Pius X Catholic Church.
