Obituary

Carol Ann Michno was born March 30, 1938, at St. John's Hospital in Tulsa and passed on Mother's Day, May 8, 2022, at Brookdale Assisted Living Facility in Broken Arrow, OK. The first child of Bill and Beryl Barton of Tulsa and later Mounds.
She is survived by her husband, Joe Thomas Michno, son, Michael J. Michno, Sr., from their home and her pride and joy, grandson, Dr. Michael J. Michno, Jr., of Boston, MA. Also, a brother Edward Barton, and his wife, Sandra, of Mounds, OK, and sister, Jean Thomason, and her husband, Bill, of Bixby, two brothers in law; George Michno and Steven Michno, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Carol Ann and her husband, Joe, met the first week they enrolled at Oklahoma State University in 1956. He was playing baseball next to her sorority dorm. After watching him play, she decided then that he was the one for her!
They were married in 1958 while in Stillwater. Their only child, Mike, was born in 1959.
The most amazing thing about their relationship: They got married (one spouse), Joe started work at Boeing and stayed there until retirement (one job) and bought a house at 3544 S. Sandusky Avenue and lived there until their health issues required both to move to assisted living in April 2022. So amazing: one spouse, one job, and one house!
Joe and Carol Ann loved traveling with trips all over the world after retiring. Trips to China, Italy, Portugal, Spain, Germany and France with family and church groups were the source of wonderful memories.
She loved Broadway shows, square dancing, reading and was a skilled bridge player. She and Joe were big supporters of both Oklahoma State and University of Tulsa sports teams.
Carol Ann was a leader: active in her church Madalene, singing in the choir, and supporting the church women of the Madalene Catholic Group and diocesan council of Catholic Women. She also served as president of Delta Zeta Collegiate and Alumnae and Beta Sigma Phi sorority.
She was beloved and admired by all who ever had the privilege of spending time with her. May she rest in peace.
