Carol Ann Ulery, first born child of John William Ulery and Cleda Irene ne Griffis on 16 November 1944, in Dayton, Ohio.
She played flute in the Springboro, Ohio high school marching band and enjoyed vacations to Florida with her family.
After a brief stint in the US Army, she made her way to southern Arkansas, seeking adventure. There she met Myles Albert Davis, and married him two quick weeks later - leaving the courthouse on the back of her husband's Honda motorcycle.
Nine months later, their first child, Christy, was born, and three years later their son, John, joined the family.
They moved to New Mexico in the early 1970's, with her sister, Kathy, and Kathy's family, in tow. Soon after, Carol's parents and youngest sister, Sandra, moved to New Mexico to join them.
Eventually, Oklahoma became home, were Carol earned her RN degree, one of her most precious accomplishments, after her becoming a mom. She worked for the Veterans Administration hospital in Muskogee, OK, as an oncology nurse. Upon retirement, she moved back to New Mexico, to be near her beloved father.
Years later, Carol moved back to Oklahoma, where she met and married Doug Hughes. Carol and Doug enjoyed traveling, seeing places together, on the 'ultimate continuing road trip'.
Sadly, Carol was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease and required professional care at Green Country Care Center, in Tulsa, OK.
After a recent fall, which led to a broken hip and other injuries, she passed from this life on 18 January 2024.
Preceding her in death were her beloved brother, Robert, Daniel "Danny" Ulery; a beloved grandmother, Emma Lee Sexton Ulery Pierce; nieces, Charla Danielle Eskins and Heather Denise Eskins Zaffery; her mother, Cleda Irene Griffis; her father, John William Ulery; a special stepmother, Wynonna McGuire Ulery; and her former husband, Myles Albert Davis.
