Casey Williams Gregg, 37, passed away on Saturday, July 8 of natural causes after a long struggle with illnesses. He was a much beloved son, husband, father, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend. He was a person of principle and courage, a patriot, a highly skilled carpenter, an expert in firearms, a dedicated fisherman, a man who enjoyed watching OU football with his dad, and whose black lab, Shady, was ever at his side.
Casey was born on February 5, 1980, in Tulsa to Ray and Charlotte Gregg. He attended Emmanuel High School and Tulsa Technology Center where he excelled in woodworking. Casey owned a successful lawn care business and later became a respected trim carpenter in the Tulsa area. Casey was good at whatever he put his mind to from fishing to pool to firearms. He aspired to work in law enforcement and completed several courses at C.O.P.S., attained his CLEET certification and concealed carry permit enabling him to work as a Security Officer.
Casey had a terrific sense of humor—he was a jokester and storyteller and would always make those around him laugh. He often had a twinkle in his eye while he contemplated telling his next story. Even through years of illness and pain, he never failed to count his blessings, to express his gratitude, and to maintain a positive attitude. His faith and family sustained him. Though his family and friends deeply mourn his loss we are comforted knowing that his pain is gone, and he is with God.
Casey is survived by his wife, Lindsay, and his children Bayleigh Clayton, Jakob Penka, and Ana Gregg, all of Tulsa; his parents Ray and Charlotte Gregg of Tulsa; his grandfather, Boyd Goen, of Anton, Texas; and his faithful companion, Shady. Numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends mourn his passing as well. Casey was preceded in death by his grandmothers, "Mam-maw" Edith Gregg Howard and "Grandmother Ann" Goen.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 14 at Fitzgerald Southwood Colonial Chapel at 3612 E. 91st Street in Tulsa. Visitation will be held Thursday, July 13, from 5 - 8 p.m. Private burial services will be at Calvary Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made in Casey's name to: Young Life, Jared Shoemaker Camp Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 33176, Tulsa, Oklahoma 74153.
