Catherine (Kitty) M. McCallion Del Col, 87, of Tulsa Oklahoma, died Saturday, March 8, 2014. She was born December 14, 1926 in Jersey City, New Jersey, daughter of the late Hugh and Irene McCallion. Kitty was raised in Jersey City, New Jersey, where she graduated from St. Michael's High School. In 1949 she graduated from the College of Mount Saint Vincent, Riverdale, NY with a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. She received her Master's in Maternity Nursing from Columbia University, New York, NY. She enjoyed a fulfilling career as a registered nurse at the Margaret Hague Maternity Hospital in Jersey City and as a nursing instructor in St. Michael's Hospital, Newark, NJ.  In 1963 Kitty married L. Andrew (Andy) Del Col. After putting her career on hold to raise her family, she returned to maternity nursing at St John Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma, followed by a nursing instructor position at Tulsa Community College.  She worked there until she retired in 1988. She was preceded in death by her husband Andy. She is survived by her daughters, Daria Del Col Coleman and Anne Marie Burns and husband Daniel; three grandchildren, Meredith Burns, Caroline Coleman and Madelyn Catherine Coleman.  Other survivors are her sisters Mary Kennedy and Patricia Burke both of New Jersey; nieces and nephews. Kitty loved spending time with her family, dogs, reading, traveling and anything chocolate. Kitty's family would like to thank RoseRock Hospice and Clarehouse for the compassionate care she received. A rosary will be held at Fitzgerald Southwood Colonial Chapel on Thursday March 13, at 7:00 p.m., the funeral mass will be celebrated Friday, March 14th, 11 a.m. in the chapel at the Church of Saint Mary Tulsa, OK. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests honoring Kitty's memory by making contributions to Clarehouse, 7617 S. Mingo Rd, Tulsa, OK 74133.
