Obituary

Cecilia Beatrice Oberste, 90, passed away peacefully April 12, 2017 after a brief illness. She was the beloved wife, for 46 years, of the late Julius "Jay" Oberste.

She was born in Hartman, Arkansas, to Henry and Mary Smreker, and graduated from Hartman High School and Drury Business School in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Ceil then moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma, where she began her working career. She worked at Southwestern Bell Telephone Company, F & M Bank, and retired from Sun Oil Company after 36 years.

She was a long time member of St. Pius X Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; sisters, Henrietta Kopp and Elizabeth Owens; brothers, Robert Smreker and William Smerker, all from the St. Louis area.

She is survived by: son, Gary and his wife, Jane, of Tulsa; daughter, Judy and her husband, Kerry Sublette, of Broken Arrow; the joys of her life, granddaughters, Megan and her husband, Mark Blakley, of Bixby, and Maggie Oberste, of Tulsa. She is also survived by her brother, Charles, and his wife, Jean, of Hillsboro, Missouri.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to: the Bishop Kelley Pallbearer Society, c/o Bishop Kelley High School, 3905 S. Hudson Ave., Tulsa, OK 74135; or the All Saints Early Childhood Center (Pre-School Program), 299 S. 9th St., Broken Arrow, OK 74012.

Viewing will be Tuesday, April 18th, from 9 am until 5 pm, at Fitzgerald Ivy Chapel, 1402 S Boulder Avenue. Prayer Service, 7 pm Tuesday, and Funeral Mass, 11 am Wednesday, April 19th, will both be at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 1727 South 75th East Avenue. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery.
