Charles Edward Welch, Sr., devoted husband, beloved father & cherished friend.
Charles was born in Edmond, OK on October 27, 1929 to mother Helen Margaret Welch, and father Hubert Eslie Welch Sr. He was younger brother to Hubert Jr., and uncle to Hubert "Butch" Welch III.
On November 2, 2013, as family gathered around his bedside, the heart that had touched so many people slowly stopped beating at the age of 84.
He met the love of his life, Neva Jo Stillwell in 1952 and they were married shortly thereafter. For 60 years, their love never wavered. Through her onset into Alzheimer's he continued to care for her until the day he died. He is survived by his wife Neva Welch, his daughters Lori Welch, Jennifer Greene, Susan Dougherty and his son Charles Jr. He also leaves behind daughter-in-law Cheryl; sons-in-law Phil & Steve; grand-daughters Kiley, Sarah, Jenny, Haley, and Ashley; and great-grandson Bradley.
He had many loving friends and will be missed by all who knew him. But, instead of a void, he leaves our hearts filled with gratitude, just knowing that such a man existed and that he was a part of our lives.
A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 8, 2013 at Redeemer Covenant Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Alzheimer's Association.
