Charles Raymond Skaggs "Ray", beloved husband, father, and grampy passed away peacefully surrounded by family on September 6th, 2026 at the age of 76.

Born February 20, 1950 in Nowata, OK, Ray was known for his quick wit, generous heart, and big ideas. He wrote the book on authoritative parenting and took the title of Grampy as seriously and joyfully as one could; sharing his knowledge, wisdom, and time at every opportunity. Slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love are the attributes of God he best exemplified to all who knew him and strangers alike.

Ray was a pensive man who enjoyed reading, brain games, and lively political discussion. His mental acumen was not to be out shadowed by his ability to make everyone around him feel appreciated. It was far more important to him to build others up than to take any credit for himself.

Survived by his beautiful wife, Anita; his children Charles, Jon, and Marie; their spouses Lindsey, Lien, and Chris; grandchildren Elle, Charlie, Annie, Graham, Norah, and Ford; brothers Bill, Bob, and Jim; sisters Mary and Denise; and many extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Annette Skaggs.

A service to celebrate Ray's life will be held on September 26th, 2026 at 10:30 am at Fitzgerald Southwood Colonial Chapel in Tulsa where family and friends are invited to gather, share memories, and honor his life.

Ray will be deeply missed and his memory will be forever cherished.
