Claire Marie Hemingway EbingerMarch 7, 1930 – December 14, 2014
Claire, the daughter of Edmond and Edmay (Burke) Gogan of Lynn, Massachusetts, died peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, December 14th, when our merciful Lord spared her from illness and suffering and welcomed her into His loving arms.
Claire, along with her husband John Hemingway, raised their three children in Tewksbury, Massachusetts. Shortly after the death of her husband in 1985 she and her daughter, Jane, relocated to Maine. In 1988 she married, Al Ebinger, who died three years later. In 2008 she moved to Oklahoma where her daughter Kathy resides, and remained until her death.
Claire's greatest joys were her family. She was proud of her children and loved them unconditionally and adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a care-giver to both of her husbands and her son, Wayne, in their final stages of life. To her grandchildren in Maine she helped care for them from the time they were born and always shared a special bond with them.
Claire loved to knit and lovingly gifted many people with anything from sweaters to hats, to slippers or a scarf: all items to be cherished. While she regularly knitted hats to share with the poor, she also made items for the Saint Gianna Ministry, which were used as burial items for babies that died at birth.
Claire loved the coast of Maine and lighthouses. In October she made her last visit and loved every minute of it. She laughed and shared time with family, connected with old friends, stayed in a house right on the coast, watched the sunrise and sunset, visited a lighthouse and got her fill of haddock and clam chowder. She was in her glory!
Claire is survived by her daughter Kathryn (Kathy) Desruisseau and her son-in-law Richard of Sand Springs, OK, and her daughter Jane Hemingway of Raymond, Maine, Grandchildren: Christopher Desruisseau, Steven Desruisseau, Joshua Hemingway, Sarah Hemingway, Emily Hemingway, Andrea Hemingway, Shannon Hemingway, John Hemingway, and Great-Grandchildren: Alex Desruisseau, Zachary Desruisseau, Cameron Desruisseau, Morgan Desruisseau, and Riley Pullen.
Claire was a gentle and kind woman and her presence will be greatly missed.

Interment will be at Tewksbury Memorial Cemetery in Tewksbury, Massachusetts at a later date.
