Claire Elaine Mueller was born June 19, 1935, in Atlanta, Georgia. She went to be with the Lord on August 3, 2023. After moving to Tulsa as a young child, she attended the private girls' school, Monte Cassino through High School. She then attended The University of Tulsa, where she was a member of the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. She also spent a semester at the University of Hawaii, where she developed a lifelong love of Hawaii. After graduating from The University of Tulsa, she worked for the Warren Oil Company. On November 9, 1957, she married Richard "Dick" Mueller and they were happily married for 65 years. After their wedding, they moved to the Oklahoma City area for several years while Dick began his successful career in the Sales Industry. Upon returning to Tulsa, they opened Mueller's Suburban Furniture store, where she assisted with store operations and interior design services. She also obtained her teaching certificate and taught high school English and Home Economics in the Tulsa Public School system. She was an amazing cook, highly skilled with knitting needles and sewing and was an avid tennis player. Claire served in many of the organizations dear to her heart including Tulsa Boys Home Auxiliiary, Children's Day Nursery and was a volunteer at Saint Francis Hospital for over 30 years.
She had a passion for traveling and was fortunate to travel with family and friends to numerous countries and she especially loved Asia. And for over 30 years, she and Richard spent the month of February in Maui, whale watching, relaxing on their lanai, shopping for gifts to give her children and grandchildren and spending time with close friends.
Most of all she loved her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her children, Philip Mueller, David Mueller (Amy), Elaine Herr, daughter in law, Sarah Mueller; grandchildren, Grace Vranac (Todd), Andrew Mueller, Liz Mueller, Colby Mueller (Cynthia), Katie Smith (Royce), Allie Mueller, Amy Mueller, Alex Garcia, Nelie Marie Emert (Josh), Galen Herr, Tommy Herr, Calvin Herr, Christian Herr (Casey), and great-grandchildren Royce Smith, Sloane Smith Hayden Herr and Savannah Herr.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Richard Mueller; son, Thomas Mueller; mother, Dallas Sloan and son in law, Tom Herr.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 AM on Friday, August 11, 2023 at the Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel.
