Obituary

Clark Edward Niss, 84 years old, born December 22nd, 1934 passed peacefully on February 28th, 2019 with family at his side. As many families have experienced, he passed due to complications from Alzheimer's.

Clark grew up in Elgin, Illinois and graduated from the University of Illinois with a degree in chemistry. He married the love of his life, Donna, in 1955, had their first child, Susan, and then moved to Kansas City, Missouri in 1960 where the family added two more beautiful children, Diane and Steven. Clark was a leader in his church, community, and business. He was President of St. Luke Lutheran Church Council in Fort Smith, Arkansas, the North Kansas City Jaycees, and President of Co-Plas which he founded with Bill Weidman. Clark was also very proud of becoming an Eagle Scout. Clark and Bill sold Co-Plas, a manufacturer of gelcoat (paint) for the fiberglass industry in 1990. Shortly after selling Co-Plas, Clark and Donna retired to Naples, FL where he lived as a "snowbird". He then relocated to Tulsa, Oklahoma in 2018 and moved to Legends Assisted Living Facility.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Madelynn Niss and his daughter Diane Niss. He is also preceded by Donna's brother Warren Gutschow (aka Flash).

Clark is survived by his wife Donna, his daughter Susan Sparks and husband Kevin with grandchildren Michelle & Michael and wife Rachel; son, Steven Niss and wife Sandy with children Madelyn & Lauren.

Clark loved to golf, having had 4 holes in one, to garden, to play cards, and to have margaritas by the pool enjoying a "beautiful day" as it always was in Florida, according to Clark.
