Cynthia P. Johnson was born on March 20, 1939, in Boston, Massachusetts. She left us bound for heaven on August 10, 2022.
Cynthia was preceded in death by her parents, Bette and Harold Joseph Gaudette; her husband, Chester Neal Johnson, Jr.; and her brother, Harold Henry Gaudette, Jr. She is survived by her loved sister, Meredith Ann Ryan, of Collinsville, OK; her daughter, Christina Bette "Angel" Burton, of Tennessee; and most-loved by her, grandchildren, Ariana Brianna Burton, of Woodward, OK, Richard (Rick) Pierce Burton, Marisa Katelynn Burton, and Laura Burton, all of Tennessee; two great-grandchildren; and friends.
Cynthia would declare she lived an interesting life, with many ups and downs, which taught her to take life as it comes and forge forward. While learning, growing, forgiving, and praying, she developed a philosophy to live life on her terms, but always striving to respect others. She loved animals, seeing something new, her family and friends, eating out, and her travels to many different places in the United States and the experiences of different jobs working with a variety of people. She was cautious but generous, her laughter and outlook on life has made an impression which will not be forgotten. May the prayers she continually said for her family and friends be continued for our sake. As she often said, "I'm off like a herd of turtles, slow and steady til we get there." She will be missed.
Rosary service will be Monday, August 15th, at 6:00 p.m., and Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m., on Tuesday, August 16th, both at Holy Family Cathedral. Burial will allow Cynthia to join Chester at Fort Gibson National Cemetery.
