Dandridge L. Harrison, born January 19, 1953, in Houston, Texas, passed away July 31, 2014 in Tulsa, Oklahoma surrounded by his loving family after a courageous ten-month battle with esophageal cancer.
Dan served as senior vice president of administrative services and corporate relations for ONEOK and ONEOK Partners and was responsible for the human resources, corporate services, investor relations, communications and community functions of the companies, including the ONEOK Foundation. From 2005 until July 2012, he was vice president of investor relations and public affairs. Dan held senior management positions with several Fortune 100 companies throughout his career, including Phillips Petroleum Company. Before entering the corporate world, Dan worked as a television reporter after graduating with honors from the University of Texas at Austin, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in communications.
Throughout his lifetime, Dan was active in many professional, civic and community organizations including the Tulsa Community Foundation, VisitTulsa for the Tulsa Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce, National Association of Publicly Traded Partnerships, Tulsa Press Club, Leadership Oklahoma, Tulsa Opera and the Oklahoma Commission on State Government Performance. Dan also served on the University of Texas' College of Communications Dean's Advisory Board. In 2011, he was named to Institutional Investor magazine's "All-America Executive Team: Best Investor Relations Professionals."
On September 10, 1983, Dan married the love of his life, Mary Ann Massey, at Holy Family Cathedral in Tulsa, Oklahoma. In January of 1986, his only child, Ann Gillingham Harrison was born.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents, Gordon L. Harrison and Joan Gillingham Harrison. He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Harrison; his daughter, Ann Gillingham Harrison; his sister, Sarah Maschek (David) of Houston, Texas along with many other family members.
Dan's family would like to thank the many friends who have supported them over the last ten months, especially his incredible ONEOK family; Dr. Jaffer Ajani and his staff at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston; Dr. John Hubner; the doctors and nurses at St. John Medical Center in Tulsa; and the caregivers and staff at Clarehouse in Tulsa, where Dan spent his final days at peace.
The Catholic funeral mass will be held at noon on Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at Holy Family Cathedral in downtown Tulsa.
