Dane Trygve Westby was born February 13, 1987 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to proud parents, Jane and Tryg (John Trygve) Westby, and a very excited big sister, Scarlett. He passed too soon from this life on March 23, 2015. He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Gerry and Katie Westby, maternal grandparents Dorothy Gostnell Shelton and Lonnie Shelton, Uncle Gerry Westby Jr., and Aunts Joanie and Dotty Westby. He is survived by his parents and sister, his dog, Daytona, his cat 'G', his soul mate, Patricia Fernandez, of the home, Great Uncle Gerry Moore, Aunt Kate Westby, beloved cousins, TEAM WESTBY and many adoring fans. Dane was a graduate of Holland Hall and completed three years at the University of Tulsa before following his Dad's footsteps into the world of professional motorcycle road racing. He loved to ride anything but it was motorcycles and motorcycle racing that fueled his two-wheeled passion. From dirt bikes as a kid, to street bikes as he grew up, Dane's talent and amazing skill carried him into the ranks of the best. His number was 00. He was The Wolverine. For 2015 he was a contender in the new 1000 Superstock class and turned the fastest time at COTA (Circuit of the Americas in Austin) in the preseason test just weeks ago. Dane was a mischievous, loving boy who grew into a kind and intelligent, honest man with a core of strength and a wealth of integrity. He had a deep love for his family, his soul mate and for all creatures great and small. Dane was a rising star, a true champion on and off the track and words cannot express how deeply he will be missed.
