Daniel Lee "Danny" Christner, of Tulsa, passed away Monday July 17th. He was a graduate of Broken Arrow Class of 1981, where he celebrated many reunions with his classmates, as well as Oklahoma State University. Danny attended Life Church and was often seen serving and greeting people as they entered the building in Bixby, OK- where he gave his life to Christ. He was an accomplished businessman, starting and building John Christner Trucking for 37 years alongside his Dad and Brother. He never let his own aspirations keep him from being an active member of the community and made sure that his legacy was one of philanthropy. From the Tulsa Boys Home (The Nic's Club) to the Tulsa Area United Way (Board of Directors/Campaign Organizer), and many in between, Danny was committed to not only giving his resources, but also his time- serving on countless committees and advisory groups of his favorite charities; including the construction of schools and hospitals in Africa. Danny was immensely proud of the Jenks Public School system, something he poured his heart and soul into, ensuring that every campus was able to promote the STEM values he considered to be fundamental- he made raising money for the Jenks foundation fun and exciting for others. Danny was incredible on a motorcycle, an expert on skis, hilarious in conversation, and had a smile that would light up any room. He loved to ride his Harley, often making the trip to Boomtown Pints and Pies in Skiatook with "the Johns" (his father and son). He collected watches, art, and had an adoration for anything fast. He loved to play golf at Southern Hills with his friends "the bubbas", and going for 5k runs anywhere in the world. Of all his great qualities, the thing he did best was being a Dad, and a Grandpa. He absolutely adored his children, and his grandchildren. He was constantly working to ensure that his future generations of Christner's were better versions of himself, and had a chance to pursue their dreams, which he succeeded in. Preceded in death by his Grandmother, Doris Boyd, and his precious daughter, Victoria Grace. He is survived by his Father and Mother, John and Gloria Christner; Son, John Wayne Christner and his wife Tesla; son, Daniel Christner; Daughters, Chloe and Riley Christner; Grand Children Evelyn and Ivana Christner; Godchildren, Forest and Faith; Brother, Darryl Christner and his wife Julie; Sister, Dee Christner; and many nieces, nephews, and friends who loved him dearly.
Services will be located at Life Church South Tulsa (Bixby). Saturday August 12th @ 11am. With a reception to follow. We look forward to seeing everyone!
