Margaret "Darlene" Johnson passed from this earthly life to her heavenly home on December 30, 2024. She was surrounded in love by her family and friends at her side. She was 82 years old. Darlene was born on March 9, 1942 in Sayre, Oklahoma to Luther Delbert "Deb" and Emma Beatrice "Bea" Bryan. She attended Capitol Hill High School in Oklahoma City and later earned her GED and attended 3 1/2 years of college toward a Bachelor's Degree at Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. She worked in many positions mostly in the healthcare field. Her last position was Human Resources Service Analyst at Integris Baptist Regional Health Center in Miami, Oklahoma. Darlene deeply enjoyed her family gatherings with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was a rock and shield to her children. There was never any doubt the love she had for her family. Her legacy was loving her family with all of her being. And she embodied that with grace and pride, all while being so very humble.
Darlene is survived by: her brother Jim Bryan and wife Linda, Midwest City, OK; her children: Kevin Bryan and wife Rhonda, Norman, OK; Carey Field and wife Tammy, Duncan, OK; Jeanie Fox and husband Gary, Tulsa, OK; Dianna Roe, Sand Springs, OK; Sandra Ginn and husband Will, Sand Springs, OK; Regina Gregory and husband Rick, Claremore, OK; and a stepson Marty Johnson, Crescent, OK. Her grandchildren whom she loved dearly are: Madison McCarthy, Hayden Bryan, Caleb Field, Jarrod Field, Brittany Field, Lacey Keith, Tess Merrifield, Christopher Wright, Trista Forrester, Caitlyn Jandebeur, Justin Roe, Micah Gibson, Joshua Bushong, Chance Oakes, Corey Fritsch, Alli Johnson, Ella Johnson and Reese Johnson. Her great grandchildren are: Owen McCarthy, Jackson Field, Kamdyn Whetstone, Mikah Whetstone, Dayton Alaniz, Hadley Alaniz, Madden Field, Weston Field, Whitley Keith, Presley Keith, Laura Hanner, Lily Frazier, Tristan Driggars, Harper Wright, Kimberlynn Forrester, Brayden Forrester, Kyden Forrester, Brantley Korb-Garrison, Brielle Jandebeur, Elijah Gibson, Keelaylah Bushong, Zayden Bushong, Kaisen Bushong, Zianna Bushong, Aiden Oakes, Lane Baker, and Kimberly Baker, and many cousins in the Bryan Family and in the Stewart Family.
Darlene is preceded in death by her parents Luther Delbert and Emma Beatrice (Stewart) Bryan, a brother Delbert Dean Bryan, her infant twin daughter Darin Lynette, and her infant twin grandson Holden Bryan.
A funeral is scheduled for Darlene on Saturday, January 4, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Fitzgerald Southwood Colonial Chapel, 3612 E 91st Street South, Tulsa, Oklahoma 74137. Interment will be at New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery, Tecumseh, Oklahoma.
