David Lee Crane, age 84, passed away Wednesday morning, July 24 in Tulsa, OK. He was born November 26, 1928 in Mankato, Minnesota to Herbert and Esther Crane. Dave served in the Army and later graduated from Mankato State University earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry and a Master of Business Administration. He married Germayne "Gerry" Backer in 1951; they celebrated their 62nd anniversary July 14. Dave worked for Williams 42 years, relocating 12 times before settling in Tulsa in 1970; he retired in 1992 as Director of Engineering and Construction. He loved family activities, playing golf, and spending time at Grand Lake. Survivors include his wife Gerry; brother Clayton (Mary Pat), Seattle, WA; and five children including Dan (Gretchen) of Edmond, David of Fort Worth, Dreu (Yudy) of Tulsa, Deidra Kirtley (Scott) of Tulsa and Diana Warren (Jim) of Tulsa, and 25 grandchildren and great grandchildren. Dave was predeceased by his parents and brother, Curtis. Visitation is Friday, July 26 from 6:00 to 7:00pm at Church of the Resurrection with Prayer Vigil at 7:00pm. The Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, July 27 at 10:00am at Church of the Resurrection. In lieu of flowers, friends may contribute to Catholic Charities or the American Heart Association.
