David Wayne Green passed away on January 10, 2026, just days before his 54th birthday. He was born on January 13, 1972, in Altus, Oklahoma, to John Neil and Suzanne Green.
In 1977, David moved with his family to Garland, Texas, and a few years later to Irving, which became his childhood home. The Green family faithfully attended and served at Plymouth Park Baptist Church in Irving, where David was actively involved in New Hope Choir, Awana, Boy Scouts, and spent time every summer at camp with his dear friends from church-experiences that helped shape his character, faith, and lifelong friendships.
David attended Farine Elementary School, Travis Junior High, and MacArthur High School. During his school years, he was deeply involved in football and wrestling and participated in numerous clubs and activities. David was an enthusiastic and proud MacArthur alumnus and followed their sports closely every year. Following high school, David briefly attended Northlake Community College and South Plains Junior College and a brief time at Texas Tech.
From his high school years through college, and during every available break, David worked at the family business, Watson Electric Supply, developing a strong work ethic and pride in serving others. Although born in Oklahoma and moving back and forth several times, David spent most of his life in Irving until 1996, when he relocated to Tulsa, Oklahoma. There, he worked for Stuart C. Irby, where he faithfully served his customers with dedication and integrity until his departure in 2021.
From a young age, David was fascinated by hot rods and classic cars. He and his father restored the family's 1957 Ford Fairlane and spent countless hours customizing the Jeep David used in his adventurous off-road excursions-time together that David treasured deeply. David had a deep love for animals, had an eclectic passion for music, and loved the outdoors. He loved to hunt deer with his black powder rifle, he loved a good steak that was well done, which his father in-law Rex would not cook a well done steak, he cherished his dogs-Bo, Duke, and Gator-and took great pride in his racehorse, DoubleJack. Alongside his close friend and horse trainer, Will Evans, David thrilled in cheering DoubleJack to 27 podium finishes, including 15 wins across 56 races-memories that brought him immense joy.
On March 7, 2015, David married the love of his life, Sarah Blevins. Together they shared a passion for horse racing and spent many Saturdays cheering on Sarah's alma mater, Oklahoma State University, especially football and wrestling.
In June 2017, David and Sarah welcomed their greatest blessing, their daughter Grace. Grace brought immeasurable love and joy into David's life, and he was completely smitten with her. The bond they shared was profound and will forever be cherished.
David was preceded in death by his parents, J. Neil and Suzanne Green, his grandparents Houston B. Watson and Mildred S. Dodgen, Otis and Flossie Green. He is survived by his loving wife, Sarah Blevins Green; his beloved daughter, Grace Green; his brother, Michael Green, his in-laws, Rex and Marilyn Blevins; brother in-law, Mark Blevins, Steve Blevins and wife Gina and numerous friends and extended family members who will miss him dearly.
The family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to Stonehaven Memory Care and Luminos and Rivercross Hospice for their compassionate care and attention.
David will be remembered for his loyalty, wit, adventurous spirit, and the deep love he held for his family, friends, and the life he lived so fully.
