D. Allen "Dean" Mandlebaum was born July 11,1942, in Oxford, Mississippi, to Bernard F. and Virginia Murle Mandlebaum. Dean passed away on Friday September 13, 2024, at the age of 82, in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
At the age of three, Dean's family moved to Bartlesville, Oklahoma where he lived until he graduated from high school in 1960.
He attended college at Ole Miss and The University of Oklahoma before joining the Army. He retired after 32 years of active and reserve duties as a Brigadier General.
He attended Tulane University where he received his undergraduate degree as well as his law degree. He practiced law in New Orleans until moving back to Oklahoma where he pursued a career in retail store ownership. He purchased The Wilderness Adventurer in 1987 and enjoyed many years working at his hobby of outdoor camping and backpacking.
He is survived by his wife Carol, of 39 years; as well as his brother William, of Bowling Green, Ohio; his sister Ann, of Bolivar, Missouri; and niece Christina Woods.
He was preceded in death by his parents Bernard and Murle Mandlebaum.

Graveside services will be Monday, September 16, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., at Rose Hill Memorial Park Cemetery, in Tulsa.
