Obituary

Debra (Debbie) Gayle Sanders-Segovia was born on June 11, 1953 to Calvin and Lorene Sanders in Stilwell, OK. Debbie was the second of three children. She married Soldier Shell in April 1973 and three children were born to this union.
Debbie married a second time to Jerry Segovia in 1991 and became mother to his two children. Their home was a gathering place for family, holidays, and enormous feasts.
She graduated from McLain High School in 1971 and attended Bacone College where she graduated with an associate's degree before entering her lifelong career in Nursing. She became an RN and worked in a variety of specialty areas of nursing. Her gift of healing was culminated by her becoming a certified wound nurse. She was dedicated to lifelong learning and education by graduating with a Bachelor's degree then a master's degree in nursing.
After retiring from nursing she dedicated herself to spending time with her grandchildren. She loved making blankets and sewing clothes for them. She also spent countless hours researching her ancestors and scrapbooking many years of family memories.
She is proceeded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband Jerry Segovia, Siblings Judy Sanders Turner of Broken Arrow and Scott and Stephanie Sanders of Bixby, and her 5 children, Mindy and Jamie Egan of Piedmont, OK, Allison and Sean Conaway of Broken Arrow, Matt and Erica Segovia of Denver, CO, Adam and Amanda Shell of Broken Arrow, and Kendall and Francesco Gallo of Brooklyn, NY, her 11 grandchildren Dalton, Claudia, Makenna, Jonah, Elena, Daphnye, Aiden, Scarlett, Zak, Livia, and Jameson. Along with a multitude of other family and friends.
A visitation will be held from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at Fitzgerald Southwood Colonial Chapel, 3612 East 91st Street South, Tulsa, Oklahoma. Funeral Service will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, September 8, 2016 at Bridge Church, 121st and Memorial, Bixby, Oklahoma.
